The Heidelberg University Biochemistry Center (BZH) invites applications from scientists for a
junior research group leader position
The successful candidate will establish an independent research group. We expect that his/her research program will contribute to the further development of research at the BZH on molecular mechanisms of intracellular transport, molecular clocks, membrane biogenesis, membrane proteins and molecular parasitology. Funding for the group is available for five years.
The BZH houses 14 groups at present and offers excellent infrastructure with central facilities, e.g. protein and lipid analysis including mass spectrometry, structural biology including a HTP-crystallization platform, high performance microscopy, and centralized administrative services. We offer numerous opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations within the BZH as well as with research institutes in Heidelberg. The BZH participates in the Cluster of Excellence (CellNetworks) and in national and international research programs as well as in the international graduate school HBIGs.
We expect our colleague to contribute to the teaching program of the BZH.
Research and teaching programs are summarized at the web site of the BZH (www.bzh.uni-heidelberg.de).
The University of Heidelberg has a policy of raising the proportion of women in academic positions and therefore specifically invites the application of women with the necessary qualifications. Under German law disabled applicants with full qualifications are to be preferred.
