Work in the research group Moser von Filseck focuses on the molecular mechanism of membrane remodelling. Cellular membranes need to be remodelled (deformed, cut, fused) in order to maintain cellular and organellar integrity. We want to reconstitute the ESCRT-III membrane-remodelling machinery to study the structure and dynamics of its assembly and to understand how proteins and lipids interact on the molecular scale.
We have a fully funded (E8 100 %) position available for a
As soon as possible.
The lab technician will assist in establishing the laboratory and manage inventory, stocks and supplies. Additionally, the lab technician will perform basic molecular biology tasks (molecular cloning etc.) and, most importantly, be responsible of the production and purification of recombinant proteins.
- BTA/CTA, BSc or MSc in life sciences (biochemistry or related fields).
- Experience in research lab activities, including protein purification, molecular biology and lab management.
- Previous achievements in the purification of challenging membrane-associated proteins using different approaches in affinity chromatography, size-exclusion chromatography and related techniques with various expression systems are a plus.
- The candidate must be able to work in a diverse and multi-cultural environment.
