Teaching at BZH
At the BZH, students of natural sciences and medicine are trained in biochemistry. We offer a variety of courses including lectures and seminars, lab practicals (as courses in our teaching labs or by individual arrangement with one of our research labs), as well as Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral theses. Each year, between 1000 and 1200 students take part in the courses at the BZH.
Depending on the study programmes, interests and career stages of our students, various basic and intermediate courses and courses on special topics are available. During the basic or pre-clinical phase, the curriculum in biochemistry is naturally quite similar for students from differerent programmes. For advanced and postgradual studies, the subject matter diverges depending on the study programme. Course material is always taught with reference to the chosen career goal. Those who wish to study certain topics in greater depth may do so in numerous optional courses that we offered in addition to the mandatory one. Those who are interested in one of the research topics represented at the BZH can pursue this interest in a research internship or as part of a diploma or doctoral thesis.
